Las bodas reales siempre han sido, más que otra cosa, una “Cuestión de Estado” que subsidiaria y raramente ha concedido algún rincón de su justificación al corazón de los contrayentes, como parece que efectivamente así ha ocurrido en los recientes esponsales de William, el nieto de Isabel II de Inglaterra o los ya más lejanos en el tiempo de algunos miembros de la Familia Real española.

Casarse, si vas a ser o eres Rey, es una obligación más que personal sin duda profesional pues garantiza la preservación dinástico-familiar de un privilegio institucional de muy dudosa legitimidad democrática, aunque esta ahora es otra cuestión. Sin duda, el cuestionable espectáculo nupcial que nos ofreció el hijo de los ahora añorados consortes Rainiero y Grace constituyó una desafortunada gestión de lo que es su responsabilidad profesional y una valiosa oportunidad perdida, que minorará significativamente las expectativas de retorno de la inversión de una boda que tardará varias décadas en volverse a proponer en el pequeño principado europeo.

¿Profesionalmente, en qué falló Alberto de Mónaco…?.

Una de las competencias esenciales de todo aquel profesional que interactúe en entornos relacionales es la adecuada gestión de su emocionalidad, ya sea por un exceso que le obligue a la contención o por su defecto que le aconseje la dinamización. Tan pernicioso puede ser el dejarse llevar incontroladamente por los sentimientos como el no ser capaz de generarlos y mostrarlos cuando se debe y es oportuno. Por desgracia, a menudo los extremos se suelen tocar siempre en el punto más inconveniente.

Si todos aceptamos que contener la emocionalidad en determinadas ocasiones es lo apropiado y hasta lo necesario, también deberemos considerar que no lo es menos el propiciarla y demostrarla en otras, aunque esto mismo pueda resultar a veces un tanto embarazoso por la ausencia de práctica habitual.

A lo largo de mi carrera profesional me he cruzado con algunos triunfadores que, entre sus principales virtudes, atesoraban la de saber manejar con tino de relojero helvético la manija del nivel de exteriorización de su comportamiento emocional y siempre con independencia de su “procesión interna”. Tenían lo que en palabras de [2] Daniel Goleman se llama la [3] Autorregulación, uno de los anclajes básicos de la Inteligencia Emocional (IE) que les permitía ajustar milimétricamente su actuación personal a lo demandado por las situaciones que vivían. Y todo ello por supuesto sin traicionar a la verdad, pues los predicamentos de la IE no fomentan el falseamiento de los sentimientos sino simplemente su adecuado manejo social.

La Autorregulación también es una de las virtudes de todo buen actor profesional, siempre en búsqueda de la verdad interpretativa a partir de su honesta capacidad para generar sentimientos a demanda, eso que tan bien supo hacer la [4] Princesa Americana, madre del hierático e insulso Príncipe no azul de la cosmopolita Costa Azul mediterránea…
